Voice notes linked to places

Remember why a place mattered. Capture it while it is fresh.

Remem is a local-first Android app for capturing a voice or typed note, attaching a place when you choose, and finding it again on a map or in a searchable list. Recording starts only when you decide. Location is optional, and local features remain usable without signing in.

The second button opens Remem only when it is already installed on this device. A public Google Play link will appear here when the listing is live.

What Remem is

A place-based memory app

Remem turns something you want to remember into a saved pin. A pin can hold captured or typed text, an optional location, a category, notes, photos and a retained recording when available. You decide when to capture and what to attach.

1 · Capture

Say it or type it

Save the thought while the reason is still clear. Remem does not use an always-listening background microphone.

2 · Add context

Choose a place and photos

Allow location when a place helps, or save without it. Add up to 10 photos to a pin.

Your choices

Useful without an account

An account is optional. Local pins, recordings and photos stay on this device. Signing in can identify your Remem account and link eligible Premium access, but it does not by itself upload your memories.

Local capture remains available offline. Speech recognition may use Apple or Google processing, including online processing when on-device recognition is unavailable. Address lookup and other online services also need a connection.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about Remem

Do I need an account to use Remem?

No. You can record, type, save and find local memories without signing in.

Does Remem work offline?

Local capture and saved memories remain usable offline. Speech recognition may need an internet connection when on-device recognition is unavailable, and online services need a connection.

Does signing in back up my memories?

No. Encrypted cloud backup and restore are not enabled in the current release. Signing in alone does not upload pins, recordings, photos or note text.

What are CSV and GPX exports?

CSV is a spreadsheet file for pin details. GPX is a map file for pins that have saved locations. Neither format is a complete Remem backup. Read the export guide for the exact contents.
